Do I want to really know what people think?
Isn't it better to pretend they don't support people who hate me?
I just asked a question on a technical forum. One of the people who responded had a "Free Palestine" avatar.
I am sure many people put that on thinking they are for some real freedom, or at least that's what they say when they are asked.
Maybe they really don't understand what is behind that "Free Palestine" call. As if October 7, followed by all the celebrations and demonstrations around the world did not show what exactly they mean by "Free Palestine".
I can assume that this person too is only "misinformed". However I am pretty sure if someone goes as far as replacing the avatar by such a call that this person has very strong opinions. Probably despite the fact that the person does not know shit about the conflict and about the history.
On the other hand maybe the person in fact knows exactly well what the message means. Maybe that person really thinks all the Jews should die or at least "go back to Poland" as many of these say.
I just wonder how the Jews who lived here for 2,000 years or who were expelled from the Arab countries should "go back to Poland". But I digress. That's another branch of this topic.
The question now, Should I comment on that message? Should I report it to the site admins? Should I hide it on the site? Should I remove it?
Actually on that site I can only flag this comment to the admins. and I cannot myself decide to remove it. Despite it being a response to my post.
What will the site admins do? Will they pretend to "protect free speech". Would they also "protect free speech" if the poster was using a Ku Klux Klan flag or a "Make America great again" hat?
Do I really want to know what they think or shall I keep quiet, be a good Jew, and not make a fuss?
