Throughout the years, but especially since the Palestinian with the leadership of Hamas have invaded the south of Israel people were telling me that the world opinion is so bad of Israel because of the lack of Israeli PR and that Israel should do more. I could agree with the second part, the Israeli government should invest a lot more money and man-power in its PR, but somehow blaming the international public opinion on the lack of Israeli PR is, IMHO, totally misunderstanding the situation and the problem.
For one there was a huge ideological investment on the western universities by organizations and movements that are trying to break the western world. The fact that they are primarily anti-Israeli and anti-Jewish is only because they thought it is an easier fight.
In general they position themselves to be on the left, the far-left, but in this fight they managed to mobilize the Jew-hating far-right as well.
So in a nutshell, this is not an Israeli or Jewish problem. It is a western civilization problem.
There is a certain rot in the mainstream media as well. I already posted enough evidence showing how biased they are propagating the lies that come out from Hamas or other Jew-hating or Israel-hating groups. Just a few days ago a UN official published that "Withing 48 14,000 children will starve to death in Gaza". Major media outlets echoed it. It was ridicules and of course the original source retraced it, but by that time the general public got another dose of "Israel being evil".
And the social media? There are 2 billion Muslims. According to western intelligence reports some 20% are radicalized. Research shows that in the Arab countries roughly 95% dislike Jews.
So not surprisingly the anti-Jewish and anti-Israeli posts get a lot of comments and a lot of likes.
The demonstrators in the USA burning both the Israeli and the USA flag. This is not an Israeli-only problem.
So yes we can all pretend that "if only Israel had a better PR then we would not be in this situation", but that's would mean at a minimum that the person is totally missing the picture.
