The hierarchy of "criticism"

criticism

I have been thinking about this a long time and I am still not sure if I manage to explain it properly.

I see many people who "criticize" Israel. Among them, naturally there are both totally uninformed, slightly informed, and better informed people.

What happens is that the very uninformed people repeat really ridiculous claims, e.g. they share the picture of the "Palestinian soccer team from 1938" trying to prove that the Palestinians were here before the Jews. However on the shirts you can see the star of David and if you dig a bit deeper you can find out that all the player are Jews. In reality back than only the Jews called themselves Palestinians.

When I mention this to the better informed, they might laugh and point out that only uninformed (or in their words: stupid) people will make this claim.

Then, when they criticize Israel they will use the numbers the UN distributes. After all they know the UN is an independent international organization. What they say must be right.

People more well-informed than them will point out how biased the UN is. They will point out the UN has more resolutions against Israel than all the other countries combined. Including China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, etc. They will also point out that the majority of countries on the "Human Rights council" of the UN are serious Human Rights violators. Thus they will reject all these claims saying that those who claim that are uninformed. (Or in their words: stupid)

Then, when these better informed people want to criticize Israel, they will say something like: "Israel has the right to exists, and Hamas has to go but what Israel does now, what we see on CNN and the BBC etc. is beyond acceptable."

Even better informed people will be able to point out that all these news organizations rely on the very same data that the UN provides based on what Hamas says. They will point out that there are researches showing how biased are that these news sources as they primarily rely on the information they receive from Hamas and in many cases accept and redistribute that without hesitation and without warning the readers.

....

So here I am with this explanation. I guess it is way too long for a Facebook post but not well written to be published in a newspaper
